Global Travel Community for Women (Wanderful)
As a female who has spent much of my life happily doing things alone, I also always wanted to find a global travel community for women. After a long search, I found Wanderful.
When I first joined Wanderful, I wasn’t positive how things would go—since so many groups start great, but will they last? I knew I’d have to experience this travel group to find out.
Now that I’ve been a part of Wanderful for several years, I can share how lovely it’s been to feel fulfilled as a member. This travel group for women still impresses me.
As someone who typically feels more comfortable connecting with people one-on-one (not in groups), it’s saying a lot how much I appreciate and enjoy Wanderful.
I think Wanderful feels so good because its founder has made it a priority for it to be a kind and respectful group, uplifting those who are often overlooked.
And there have been so many opportunities to connect one-on-one or in a group. I love all the learning and growth that has come with each Wanderful offering.
40,000+ Females Who Love Travel
Wanderful has supported 40,000+ females, an entire sisterhood of women who love the topic of travel, regardless of one’s travel experience.
We get to connect, meet, and learn from one another—virtually, locally, and internationally.
And all who identify as female are encouraged to join Wanderful. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are very important for all of us who want to learn and grow in kind and loving ways.
Wanderful is for women who…
are afraid to travel (but still love the topic of travel)
like hearing about travel
like talking about travel
like meeting up with others at local sites
like traveling around the world (solo or with others)
are seeking opportunities to work in the travel industry
like growing travel industry skills
like attending women’s global travel conferences and events
Connecting, Learning, Traveling
I love the flexibility of how I can connect and learn with Wanderful group members—virtually, locally, or internationally.
For instance, I have a Wanderful “creator” membership (I have a website where I create), so each day I like to log into Wanderful’s website (or their “Mighty Network” app), to see…
what members are up to (as they inquire about, prepare for, or share their travels)
group tour opportunities that are happening (local gatherings, international trips)
travel industry events that are coming up (and if there are free or discounted tickets)
travel job opportunities that are posted (digital/remote, local, international)
live online happenings (discussions, masterminds, webinars, interviews)
I scroll through the community feed, chat with members, watch online happenings, and decide if there are any in-person events that I want to attend in the future.
My biggest challenge is that I’m on the go so much, but I don’t always know where I’ll be until the last minute, so I don’t plan too far out in advance. I really like living this way.
And Wanderful offers more than enough to keep my unpredictable schedule busy. There are hours upon hours of digital content, live and recorded, that keep me learning and growing.
As well, even virtually, I’ve built connections through Wanderful that I’ll always want to hold onto.
Local Travel Chapters (Hubs)
Wanderful currently has about 50 travel chapters (hubs) so travelers can meet up for local in-person events. One can join a hub closest to them, or one can join any (or all!) of the hubs.
Wanderful welcomes the opening of more hubs around the world, so those who would enjoy leading a Wanderful chapter should most definitely inquire and ask about volunteering.
If I’m going to be in Paris, I love knowing I can connect with the Paris hub before my trip, join them at one of their local gatherings during my trip, or just meet up with an individual member.
This is a sisterhood that feels safer to me—making connections possible year-round with one another, virtually and in person.
And I love tuning into member profiles online—their websites, values, and hopes. I enjoy following their blogs to keep up with what they’re doing.
Travel Job Board
As someone who loves to help spread the word about unique travel job opportunities in the world, I am so grateful that Wanderful shares unique jobs that revolve around travel, too.
Even though I’m not necessarily looking for a new job, I’m slightly addicted to reading all the fun job opportunities that Wanderful shares. I’d seriously love to try most of them.
So for those looking for a career change near home, freelance, hybrid, remote, or nomadic work, I love that Wanderful helps women find their dream job in this arena.
I think it’s especially telling that Wanderful shares special opportunities from companies that are reaching out to hire women and other diverse candidates. We need this support in the world.

international listings
non-travel jobs that require a lot of travel
Creators (of Travel Content)
I am so grateful that Wanderful has what feels like endless support for those of us who create travel content. This support helps me understand what I need to know at various levels.
A benefit of my “creator” membership is that I get to share my travel content (on Fridays) with fellow Wanderful members. I always hope such sharing helps my travel-loving friends.
I should note that in the time I’ve been a member of Wanderful, my website traffic has increased its monthly readership by more than 4,000 percent. Four thousand percent. Woah.
I had to use a Percentage Increase Calculator to verify that my calculation was correct.
I am so appreciative of the kindness and expertise of those teaching the helpful online sessions at Wanderful, allowing us to learn and grow more skills in the travel world.
And I just work at this effort a fraction of my time. I can only imagine what someone else could accomplish part-time or full-time.
WITS (Women in Travel Summit)
WITS is Wanderful’s annual international conference for women who love travel, with a focus on those who are often left out of the travel conversation.
My Wanderful “creator” membership makes me eligible to receive a discounted ticket to the annual WITS conference, plus exclusive access to WITS partnerships, press trips, and more.
WITS attendees get to strengthen and grow their skills while meeting with dozens of travel brands.
Respect and dignity for all is the foundation of WITS, welcoming all backgrounds, races, nationalities, religions, ages, abilities, body sizes, sexual orientations, and genders.
Just like Wanderful, WITS embraces an inclusive definition of gender, including trans and cis women, nonbinary people, and all along the gender spectrum. I think this is vital.
An Extra Special Note About Wanderful
For each purchased Wanderful membership, Wanderful gifts a free annual membership to someone in need of this membership, too. I think this is essential—growing global goodness.
